Author Visit
Halloween week in the Quaker Valley School District was especially busy for students who were treated to a visit by author, Gordon Korman. “Born to Rock,” “Son of the Mob,” and “Swindle,” are among many other titles he has written for upper elementary and middle school students.
He appeared in every school in the area sharing insights into his most widely read books and anecdotes about the provenance of his ideas. Additional appearances at the Penguin Bookshop and Sewickley Public Library offered an opportunity for home-schooled students and parents to meet with the author and have books signed.
The event was sponsored by Sewickley-Area-Libraries with a generous grant from the the Child Health Association of Sewickley (www.childhealthassociation.org)
